Where to Go for a Classical Orchestra and Choir Performing Holiday Songs (between DC and NYC)?
For example, I love performances by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (as seen on Youtube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntG4QLwbL… of such songs as O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, etc. Unfortunately, I can’t make it all the way out to Utah to see them! Any similar choir will do.
I have been searching for concerts in DC and NY (in places such as the Kennedy Center, Madison Square Garden, etc) this holiday season and all I can find are things like “Family Fun Sing-Along” or “Rock Out with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.” I don’t want watered-down jingle bells fun music, I would love to hear the beauty of a full symphony orchestra and choir in person, hear the music that brings tears to my eyes even when listened to through headphones.
Anywhere between Washington DC, New York City, Philadelphia, Virginia, or that general vicinity. Please help!!
You have a huge selection of beautiful music is all those areas. Just search for a orchestra concert, i know there is the new york philharmonic and they hold christmas concerts, and I’m sure there are some down in the dc area as well. Also, look for local groups, they’d be a lot less expensive and still pretty good.
